PLEASE SCROLL DOWN
Dear Mentors, Parents/Guardians and Students:
If you need assistance while I am on vacation please
call Jean Varden at 661-713-4999 or email: jvarden@avph.org

Activities are for the participants and their families in the United We Mentor Program only, unless noted "Public Event".

We encourage Mentors and Students to bring healthy lunches to our activities, this is part of our community awareness program.

Examples of healthy lunches would be a sandwich or salad with protein, fresh fruit, nuts/seeds and 2 water bottles. Please avoid cookies, candy, soda, chips, etc.

Pot Luck Dinners and Event Guidelines
AVPH is conducting a Valley wide campaign to promote healthy eating and we like to model healthy eating at all of our events. Fresh fruits and vegetables are always good options and can be prepared In a variety of appealing ways.

If you choose to bring a dessert please consider something that is low in sugar and salt and has nutritional value other than calories such as; fruit, nuts, seeds, and oatmeal. Our general guide is less than 200 calories per serving and less than 200 mg of sodium per serving. Thank you for your assistance, Jean Varden
