Friday, March 19 from 4 pm to 7 pm and Sat, March 20 from 9 am to 12 noon--Free Training for mentors--TELL A FRIEND!

Saturday-April 10-Ropes Course-Confidence and Team builder- How to face fear and overcome obstacles. Great outdoor activity! The ropes are inches from the ground not 20 feet in the air. Everyone who wishes to participate must have a signed permission slip by their parent/guardian. Mentors must also sign one. We will pass out permission slips on March 15th at our event. The address is: 18651 Pine Canyon Rd., Lake Hughes, CA 93532. Please do a map quest as soon as possible and call Karen if you have any questions-we will meet there. Karen's business cell is 661-802-1380. You don't want to miss this amazing day. This event is for all mentors and mentees but is required for Caregiver's Choice Mentors and Mentees (students). Thursday-May 6-Talent Night-Last year this was a huge success!
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster
on Newgrove St. (We've held activities there before)
Prepare your mentee for a great night-Each student gets to use the microphone to tell us about their accomplishments during the 2009-10 school year. For example: An award from school, talent, sports, art, writing project, singing, dancing, etc.
There will also be live entertainment. Please eat dinner before you arrive.

Friday-July 16-Family BBQ- For our Mentors, Mentees, Parents, and Siblings-a family event. (Please do not bring your friends and neighbors)
5:30 pm the food will be ready to eat-we'll socialize and play until 7:30 pm
Lancaster City Park (near the children's playground)
Major cross streets are Ave L and 10th St. West-behind the Costco Store.
Mark Chapa and friends are donating the burgers, hot dogs, condiments, drinks, and paper products. UWM participants will do a potluck for side dishes and desserts. Our Mentors are welcome to volunteer to create some fun games for us to play, we will have a water balloon toss, soccer balls, basketballs, Frisbees, etc.

We are requied to offer additional training for Caregiver's Choice mentors and mentees (students). We offer fun activites instead of sitting behind a table in our conference room. If you're unable to attend the fun activities you will be required to come and attend a one-on-one training with Karen or Char in the conference room.
