Pot luck- please bring a fruit salad, green salad, or side dish to share- sandwiches have been sponsored by Carpeteria. Come play with Frisbees, water balloons, soccer balls and sack races
I need mentors in their 20's and 30's to play soccer with the students.

BEACH BUS TO SANTA MONICA
8:30 am the bus leaves Lancaster City Park Parking Lot (0ff 10th St. West) Same park we have the picnic.
9:00 am the bus leaves Palmdale Transportation Center (AVTA bus stop zone)
Everyone must make their own group reservations-UWM can't do the reservation for you, sorry. contact: www.lagobus.info or call 626-458-3909 (phones closed on Friday) by August 20th at the lastest. The bus fills up quickly for Saturday trips.
Bus to Santa Monica $6. per person/Seniors (60+) are only $2.00!
Bring a healthy sack lunch and two water bottles.
Students should pay their $6 for the bus plus bring their own spending money and lunch
You may wish to wear your swimsuit under your clothing and bring underwear to change into at the end of the day. If you don't have a swimsuit, shorts and a top will do. Remember some fabrics are see through when they get wet. Also, bring your chairs, sand toys, towels, sun screen, camera, sunglasses, and a hat.
We are taking the BEACH BUS so the entire family may attend and learn how to utilize community resources. Everyone is invited-mentors, mentees, parents and siblings.
I have emailed out the official flyer for the bus, created by the County office of Michael D. Antonovich.-Please use this resource the whole summer.
August 27 or 29, 2012-More backpacks have come in!!!
Please call if you need one! I will be on vacation Aug 30-Sept. 9. You will not be able to pick up backpacks when I am gone.
I need to take a photo and receive thank you card from every student receiving a backpack.

Getty Villa Museum in Malibu and Zuma Beach after the museum visit
Bus loading time 8:15 am at the AVPH office
Bus drives away at 8:30 am

This event is for mentors and mentees or
one parent and their child, if the mentor is unable to attend.
Tour the Getty Villa-It is filled with ancient items from the Pompeii era, guided tours through the garden and structure, also a welcome movie about Mr. Getty. This is my favorite museum, you will not want to miss this. After we are done exploring the museum we are heading to the beach for a few hours of fun!!!
Please wear good walking shoes, bring a lunch and 2 water bottles. (bring swimsuit, towel, toys, Frisbees, hat, sunscreen, etc.)
As always, please do not eat or drink on the bus. Students should bring their own spending money and healthy lunch.
